Pre-algebra Lesson Plans

The typical day in my class:
~ Write homework assignment in agenda and do daily warmup.
~ Grade homework from day before and answer any questions on that assignment.
~ Take notes on new material and do practice problems together as a class and /or individually.
~ Any remaining time is used to start that day's homework.

Lessons for the week of Jan 5th - Jan 9th:

Monday:
Objectives: To identify special pairs of angles & relationships of angles formed by two parallel lines cut by a transversal.
Instruction: Notes & examples.
Assessment / Homework: Lesson 6.1 p.309 #1-23, 42-45.
Standards: S4C1PO2

Tuesday:
Objectives: To find the sum of the angle measures of a polygon & the measure of an interior angle of a regular polygon.
Instruction: Notes & examples.
Assessment / Homework: Lesson 6.3 p317&318 #1-18.
Standards: S4C1PO6

Wednesday:
Objectives: To identify congruent polygons.
Instruction: Notes & examples.
Assessment / Homework: WS 6.4 Skills Practice & Practice.
Standards: S4C1PO3

Thursday:
Objectives: To identify line symmetry & rotational symmetry.
Instruction: Notes & examples.
Assessment / Homework: WS 6.5 Skills Practice & Practice.
Standards: S4C2PO3

Friday:
Objectives: To review the real number system, squares, square roots, scientific notation, comparing & ordering rational numbers.
Instruction: Notes & examples.
Assessment / Homework: Buckle Down Lesson 1
Standards: S1C1PO1-3, S1C2PO4/5

ELL IV Standards this week:
1. The student will exprss orally his/her own thinking and ideas.
2. The student will listen actively to the ideas of others in order to acquire new knowledge.
3. The student will acquire English language vocabulary and use it in relevant contexts.
