EXPECTATIONS:
~ Please follow all directions.
~ Respect others & their property at all times.
~ Come to class with the required materials & complete assignments on time
~ Do not interfere with the learning of yourself or others.
~ Please ask questions whenever you don't understand something!
8TH GRADE (Pre-algebra) GRADING POLICY:
Your grade will be composed of 2 components. Any kind of cheating will not be tolerated. You're only cheating yourself!
1) Tests, Quizzes & Notebook Quizzes 60%
Tests will be scheduled at the end of each unit & might include material from previous units. Quizzes may or may not be announced ahead of time. Notebook Quizzes will be after each unit test.
2) Homework 40%
Homework will be assigned every day. Doing your homework on time is very important because grading and answering questions on that homework will be part of the next day's lesson. Late assignments will not be accepted for credit.
Math Notebook:
I do not collect math notebooks. Notebook quizzes can greatly enhance your grade if you follow the directions below. If you are absent, please copy class notes, warm-ups, and examples from a classmate ( this information could be on your notebook quiz). We will clean out the notebooks each quarter.
Bring your notebook to class each day & organize it this way:
1st Section - Use the top half of each page for warm-ups. Use the bottom or back side for class notes and examples. DATE EACH PAGE AS YOU USE IT!
2nd Section - Keep all homework assignments here, even those that have been graded and turned back. Worksheets, special handouts, and graded quizzes and tests can be placed here when they are 3 hole punched or you may keep them in the pockets of your notebook. ALL must have proper headings with dates so that you can succeed on the notebook quizzes.
HONORS ALGEBRA 1/2 & HONORS GEOMETRY 1/2 GRADING POLICY:
The grading policy for high school courses is determined by the district so all schools are consistent. Grades will be computed on an 18 week basis. Your grade will consist of 3 components.

2) Classwork & Homework (20%)
